abstract = {The sustainable management of linear NBS for face aridity in agroecosystems, including ditches, trenches, channels, and waterways, requires a clear understanding of their specific functions and services. Among the different terms, "ditches" provide a straightforward description of human-made elongated ground depressions used for reducing soil erosion or for water re-infiltration, drainage, or irrigation. However, this term's specificity might fail to convey the historical significance of the related structures, their management diversity, or environmental impacts. For this reason, researchers use different terms, together with ditches or even as synonyms, generating confusion. How to decipher the multiple uses of this term? The increasing availability of curated databases of scientific literature and the advances in information science now offer opportunities to handle the growing body of academic output and the inconsistencies in vocabulary. In particular, textual analysis through data mining approaches can help explore the use of terms and their interrelationships within the scientific community without predefined notions. This study aims to provide an overview of the topics associated with "ditch," trace its evolving usage over recent decades, and identify potential gaps and synonyms. To this end, we performed a textual analysis of literature from the Web of Science database from 1955 to July 2023, including all documents mentioning "ditch*" in titles, abstracts, and author keywords. Data were processed using the CorTexT Manager open platform, employing natural language processing scripts. Findings reveal that drainage ditches were referenced more than irrigation ditches, with a recent spike in studies linking ditches to paddy fields. In the last decade, research interest has been highest in China, steady but lower in Europe, and consistently low in the US. While interest in land use related to ditches has declined, the focus on ecosystem services and climate change, particularly greenhouse gas emissions from ditches, has increased. In conclusion, the use of the term ditch evolved from technical applications to studying related services yet separately examining different agricultural landscapes. A system approach to ditches would help encompass their different functions and services.},

Our everyday lives are increasingly entangled with ubiquitous but invisible data and algorithmic systems. These systems are becoming a matter of fact of our everyday. Almost no aspect of our lives exist that has not been curated, mediated, ordered, and structured based on algorithmic systems: the news and media we consume, our potential dates, the music we listen do, the ads we see, the prices for goods and services we are offered. While this might seem innocent, the evidence is mounting daily about the potential risks and harms this algorithmic ordering of the social brings with itself. This thesis takes these algorithmic matters of fact as matters of concern. Using the notion of algorithmic governmentality to describe the state of as if agency that individuals have within the human-algorithms assemblages, this thesis aims to find the counterpoints and the counter-conducts against this governmentality to enable meaningful human agency as a precondition for digital sovereignty. To do this a number of empirical studies have been conducted. The aim of these studies is to both inquire about the requirements for agency of the individuals themselves entangled in these systems, and to investigate how they can be technically translated into technology design. As a result of these inquiries, I propose the notion of agency affordances understood as tools and mechanisms for assembling meaningful human agency by programming it via the technical infrastructures and for facilitating it via the societal structures. Borrowing from the theories of the semiotician A.J. Greimas and transposing them into the realm of the algorithmic, this thesis further develops an analytical, conceptual, and practical framework for investigating and enabling meaningful human agency. Another crucial contribution of this thesis is that is also serves as a study in research methods regarding investigating data and algorithmic systems. Adopting the approach of thinking and researching with care and trying to navigate the technical affordances of algorithmic systems that constrain our field of research, a number of approaches are developed that propose productive mechanisms of opening for research. By incorporating the approaches of critical companionship, critical pedagogy and studying up, this thesis also maps productive and empowering and avenues for participatory research.},

abstract = {This dissertation embarks on an extensive exploration of the ethical challenges emerging from the integration of AI in educational assessments. It uncovers the complex interplay between AI and the ethical imperatives these technologies pose within educational assessments.
Amidst the rapid development of AI-enabled educational technologies, such as Ubiquitous, Adaptive, and Immersive technologies, this research identifies a notable gap in literature specifically concerning the ethical imperatives and implications of AI in educational assessments. Addressing this gap, the dissertation has three primary objectives: to comprehend and analyze the underpinning educational technologies driving assessments, to elucidate the intricate relationship between AI, ethics, and educational assessments, and to develop a comprehensive theoretical framework addressing the ethical challenges inherent in AI implementations in assessments.
The dissertation contributes to the research field by offering a nuanced examination of AI’s role in educational assessments and its ethical ramifications. It introduces a robust framework to guide educators, policymakers, and researchers through the ethical complexities of AI implementation. This study not only bridges the literature gap but also provides actionable insights for the practical application of AI in educational settings, emphasizing the need for ethical consideration at every stage of the assessment pipeline.
The dissertation highlights the dynamic trajectories of educational technologies, stressing the rising importance of adaptive technologies and the transformative role of immersive and ubiquitous technologies in assessments. It underscores the necessity of ethical vigilance in AI applications and validates a generalizable framework for ethically grounded AI-enabled assessments.
The dissertation opens pathways for future exploration, suggesting the need for interdisciplinary methodologies, longitudinal studies, deeper analysis of learners' AI understanding, and practical applications of the study’s insights. It calls for a collaborative, informed approach among various stakeholders in education to responsibly harness AI's potential, ensuring its integration not only advances educational practices but does so with ethical integrity and pedagogical effectiveness.},

abstract = {This thesis chronicles a research journey that necessitated a throrough problem formulation to substantiate the chosen corpus (Annales de Géographie and L'Espace Géographique journals) and methodological approach (utilizing word embeddings). The crux of the problem revolved around addressing the 'socio-semantic hypothesis' postulated by Olivier Orain in his thesis (2003) to validate the pertinence of his kuhnian perspective on French geography. The ensuing results show this socio-semantic hypothesis does not withstand scrutiny. Most notably, the notions of 'space' and 'environment' exhibit distinct semantic foundations within french geography during the 1960s. In the tumultuous years of the 1970s, 'space' does not acquire a singular new meaning but rather multiple interpretations. Furthermore, these nuanced meanings extend beyond the confines of the theoretical-quantitative paradigm. Lastly, the 1980s do not usher in a newfound stability or clear semantic shift. Still, it is worth stressing that these findings do not directly impugn Olivier Orain's kuhnian interpretation. Jean-Claude Passeron's developments in Le raisonnement sociologique (2006, 1991) provide an in-depth understanding of this situation : the experimental framework is rarely sufficient in social sciences. One consequence of this situation is an outright opposition to any kuhnian reading of these sciences. This perspective from Passeron has led to a meticulous evaluation of various other arguments advanced by Olivier Orain, revealing several shortcomings when compared to the original kuhnian schema. In the final phase of the thesis, this critical perspective is extrapolated to contemporary discourse, namely the realms of digital humanities and big data. A deconstruction of the narratives that frequently assert themselves as heralding paradigmatic shifts is carried out, supplemented by an introspective analysis of the conditions governing production and, ultimately, pedagogy of social sciences. },

abstract = {The recent years have seen a surge of initiatives with the goal of defining what “ethical” artificial intelligence would or should entail, resulting in the publication of various charters and manifestos discussing AI ethics; these documents originate from academia, AI industry companies, non-profits, regulatory institutions, and the civil society. The contents of such documents vary wildly, from short, vague position statements to verbatims of democratic debates or impact assessment studies. As such, they are a marker of the social world of artificial intelligence, outlining the tenets of different actors, the consensus and dissensus on important goals, and so on.
Multiple meta-analyses have focused on qualitatively identifying recurring themes in these documents, highlighting the high polysemy of themes such as transparency or trust, among others. The broad term of “AI ethics” and its guiding principles hide multiple disparities, shaped by our collective imaginations, economic and regulatory incentives, and the pre-existing social and structural power asymmetries; through quantitative analyses, we validate and infirm previous qualitative results.
In this paper, we create and present a corpus of charters and manifestos discussing AI ethics through the process of collection and its quantitative analysis using text analysis to shed light on common and distinct vocabularies. Through frequency analysis, hierarchical topic clustering and semantic graph modelling, we show that the charters and manifestos discuss AI ethics along three broad axes: technical documents, regulatory ones, and innovation and business ones. We use our quantitative analysis to back up and nuance previous qualitative results, showing how some themes remain specific while others have fully permeated the space of AI ethics. We document and release our corpus, comprising of 436 documents, charters and manifestos discussing AI ethics. We release the corpus, its datasheet and our analysis, to open the way to further studies and discussions around vocabulary, principles and their evolution, as well as interactions among actors of AI ethics, in order to foster further studies on the topic.},

An interdisciplinary research field that can be framed within Social Science is Public Communication of Science and Technology (PCST), which examines how science and technology can affect contemporary society and how society can affect science and technology. The digitization of traditional media and the proliferation of other information channels, such as Social Media, provide new opportunities for PCST.
This paper discusses the issues that need to be addressed to support PCST scholars, possible solutions to address them, and the integration of these solutions into a single platform that is being used to support research and teaching. abstract = {Healthy soil is vital for our wellbeing and wealth. However, increasing demand for food and biomass may lead to unsustainable soil and land management practices that threaten soils. Other degradation processes such as soil sealing also endanger soil resources. Identifying and accessing the best available knowledge is crucial to address related sustainability issues and promote the needed transition towards sustainable soil and land management practices. Such knowledge has to cover all knowledge domains, system knowledge, target knowledge, and transformation knowledge. However, a comprehensive overview of existing research addressing societal needs related to soil is still missing, which hinders the identification of knowledge gaps. This study provides a detailed analysis of scientific literature to identify ongoing research activities and trends. A quantitative and qualitative analysis of scientific literature related to sustainable soil and land management was conducted. A systems-oriented analytical framework was used that combines soil and land related societal challenges with related knowledge domains. Our analysis revealed a significant increase in scientific publications and related interest in soil and land use-related research, above the average increase of publications within all scientific fields. Different forms of reduction and remediation of soil degradation processes (e.g. erosion, contamination) have been studied most extensively. Other topic areas like land take mitigation, soil biodiversity increase, increase of ecosystem services provision and climate change mitigation and adaption seem to be rather recent concerns, less investigated. We could highlight the importance of context-specific research, as different regions require different practices. For instance, boreal, tropical, karst and peatland regions were less studied. Furthermore, we found that diversifying soil management practices such as agroforestry or including livestock into arable systems are valuable options for increasing biomass, mitigating/adapting to climate change, and improving soil related ecosystem services. A recent trend towards the latter research topic indicates the transition from a soil conservation-oriented perspective to a soil service-oriented perspective, which may be better suited to integrate the social and economic dimensions of soil health improvement alongside the ecological dimension.},

abstract = {Is the analytical framework used by ethologists sufficient to study the mental states of non-human animals (NHAs) at the appropriate level of complexity? To address this question our strategy was to i) reveal the experimental and analytic habits of scientists of different disciplines in the literature, and ii) use "intention" as a vector in an interdisciplinary prospect of the study of NHAs mental states. Our own intention was to outline the specific orientations and possible impasses of the ethological analytical framework which limits the consideration of NHAs intentions. We conducted a bibliometric analysis of the scientific literature published between 2016 and 2020 in two steps: 1. through a first corpus, we identified the terms used in studies of NHAs intentions and 2. on this basis, 111 articles related to intentions in NHAs were selected. By analysing them using a co-occurrences network of the authors’ keywords, ten scientific approaches to intention in NHAs were identified. Our main findings are that i) the term « intention » is very seldom used in studies of NHAs; ii) approaches developed in humans are rarely transposed in these studies; and iii) in such few studies, it is not the NHAs intentions which are under question, but the link between NHAs and human intentions. This study highlights the limitations of the current theoretical framework used to study non-human animals’ cognition, which does not allow for the full spectrum of non-human cognitive specificities.},

abstract = {Metrics foster trust in governing bodies, but their uncertainty can elicit an opposite sentiment of mistrust. In chemicals governance, most of the conversations concerning computational models revolve around their uncertainty, and the extent to which simulations of safe doses can be transposed in regulatory decisions. To understand the source of this mistrust in models, research in science and technology studies on policy modeling, particularly research that looks at models as an interface between science and policy, must be extended to consider the private production of predictions. Looking at the full set of actors involved in predictive regulatory knowledge – companies, regulatory agencies, modelers working with one or the other – and their concurrent articulations of uncertainty, it appears that regulators audit physiologically based pharmacokinetic models (PBPK, a key class of models used to compute safe chemical doses), because the chemical industry initially introduced them to challenge its methods of risk assessment. Regulators and their modelers established model auditing, to be able to negotiate the predictive claims of companies and their consultants. At the end of the day, neither companies nor regulators appear to dominate the production of predictive knowledge. It is the product of the shifting distribution of expertise in the regulatory space, and of the outcomes of the recurrent trials of credibility that this distribution enables.},

abstract = {Much debate has been around the misapplication of metrics in research assessment. As a result of this concern, the Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) was launched, an initiative that caused opposing viewpoints. However, the discussion topics about DORA have not been formally identified, especially in participatory environments outside the scholarly communication process, such as social networks. This paper contributes to that end by analyzing 20,717 DORA-related tweets published from 2015 to 2022. The results show an increasing volume of tweets, mainly promotional and informative, but with limited participation of users, either commenting or engaging with the tweets, generating a scarcely polarized conversation driven primarily by a few DORA promoters. While a varied list of discussion topics is found (especially "Open science and research assessment," "Academics career assessment & innovation," and "Journal Impact Factor"), the DORA debate appears as part of broader conversations (research evaluation, open science). Further studies are needed to check whether these results are restricted to Twitter or reveal more general patterns. The findings might interest the different evaluators and evaluated agents regarding their interests and concerns around the reforms in the research evaluation.},

abstract = {As part of the current agroecological transition, animal traction in agriculture is benefiting from an increased focus in developed countries. However, the practice is struggling to gain recognition from research, institutions and the agricultural profession. This article aims to analyze how animal traction is treated in developed countries, and to assess the extent to which it could be considered an agroecological practice. We analyze animal traction as a scientific object and a socio-professional movement. Our methodology is based on a review of scientific literature and an analysis of the French general press. The various studies show that animal traction has advantages in terms of energy, economics and agronomy. It tends to be developed by alternative movements and farmers motivated by a desire to redesign our food systems. Both scientific and press reviews show a renewed positive interest in animal traction. Although these reviews highlight its agroecological potential, the practice is facing difficulties in gaining recognition. The findings of this article are of obvious interest to rural development researchers and policy makers. They help the former to explore new issues in the return of animal traction, and the latter to better understand the development factors of this practice.},

abstract = {Electrochemical methods are increasingly favored for remediating polluted environments due to their environmental compatibility and reagent-saving features. However, a comprehensive understanding of recent progress, mechanisms, and trends in these methods is currently lacking. Web of Science (WoS) databases were utilized for searching the primary data to understand the knowledge structure and research trends of publications on electrochemical methods and to unveil certain hotspots and future trends of electrochemical methods research. The original data were sampled from 9080 publications in those databases with the search deadline of June 1st, 2022. CiteSpace and VOSviewer software facilitated data visualization and analysis of document quantities, source journals, institutions, authors, and keywords. We discussed principles, influencing factors, and progress related to seven major electrochemical methods. Notably, publications on this subject have experienced significant growth since 2007. The most frequently-investigated areas in electrochemical methods included novel materials development, heavy metal remediation, organic pollutant degradation, and removal mechanism identification. “Advanced oxidation process” and “Nanocomposite” are currently trending topics. The major remediation mechanisms are adsorption, oxidation, and reduction. The efficiency of electrochemical systems is influenced by material properties, system configuration, electron transfer efficiency, and power density. Electro-Fenton exhibits significant advantages in achieving synergistic effects of anodic oxidation and electro-adsorption among the seven techniques. Future research should prioritize the improvement of electron transfer efficiency, the optimization of electrode materials, the exploration of emerging technology coupling, and the reduction in system operation and maintenance costs.},

abstract = {While the recent pandemic has accelerated the spread of smart working dynamics in Italy, social media increased their importance as platforms to vehiculate information and points of view and shape public opinion. In the face of extended confinement and a looming health crisis, society has had to fundamentally rethink its daily work practices, social relations, family relationship management, and work-life balance. As a result, the radical and abrupt migration to networked platforms has been a disruptive and unprecedented phenomenon. We aimed to investigate the Twitter debate on smart working during the pandemic by focusing mainly on social concerns and thematics related to work-life balance by addressing the following research questions:
- RQ1: How was the topic of smart working debated on Twitter during the Covid19 pandemic (2020-2021) in Italy, and which narratives and issues fuelled the debate the most?
- RQ2: How the public debate has received the Italian government's work-life balance measures?
- RQ3: Which topics were most discussed by women on smart working?
We used Digital Methods to cope with re-proposing data to depict collective phenomena, social transformations, and cultural expressions by analyzing natively digital data on social media platforms. We gathered more than 750.000 tweets between 28 February 2020 and 30 November 2021, and we mapped narratives and communities by using social network analysis. This allowed for the selection of the more intriguing ones to define various sub-datasets on which to conduct a topic modeling study, which aided in understanding more nuanced aspects of the highly fragmented topic. By studying the italian debate, we identified specific communities which debated government measures to help families during the pandemic and discussed digitalization and smart working as a new paradigm for work. We found DAD (Didactic at Distance, aka homeschooling) as a transversal topic that highly affected how people experienced smart working.},

abstract = {This study aimed to investigate the current state of published literature on Academic Social Networking Sites (ASNSs) in scholarly communication using bibliometric techniques. Social Networking Sites have revolutionized social interaction and scholarly communication by making it easier for researchers to collaborate and share their work. Researchers used selected keywords to gather data from Scopus.
Fourteen years from 2007 to 2020 were considered for the analysis of research publications. Additionally, this research employed a Biblioshiny to provide a graphical representation of bibliometric indicators. the VOSviewer, CorTex, and Citespace software packages were employed to evaluate the keyword analysis and explore the research theme of social networking sites in research communication. A total of 751 publications were retrieved from 381 journals. In terms of publication, positive growth was seen. In scholarly communication, the United States is the most productive country in SNSs research. Regarding institutional affiliation, Wuhan University in China is the most prolific. In addition, it outlined the "5 Ps" for implementing ASNSs. Hopefully, the information provided by this bibliometric analysis of scholarly communication on social networking sites will be helpful to scholars in the future and contribute to the growth of knowledge in this area.},

abstract = {During political campaigns, candidates use rhetoric to advance competing visions and assessments of their country. Research reveals that the moral language used in this rhetoric can significantly influence citizens’ political attitudes and behaviors; however, the moral language actually used in the rhetoric of elites during political campaigns remains understudied. Using a data set of every tweet () published by 39 US presidential candidates during the 2016 and 2020 primary elections, we extracted moral language and constructed network models illustrating how candidates’ rhetoric is semantically connected. These network models yielded two key discoveries. First, we find that party affiliation clusters can be reconstructed solely based on the moral words used in candidates’ rhetoric. Within each party, popular moral values are expressed in highly similar ways, with Democrats emphasizing careful and just treatment of individuals and Republicans emphasizing in-group loyalty and respect for social hierarchies. Second, we illustrate the ways in which outsider candidates like Donald Trump can separate themselves during primaries by using moral rhetoric that differs from their parties’ common language. Our findings demonstrate the functional use of strategic moral rhetoric in a campaign context and show that unique methods of text network analysis are broadly applicable to the study of campaigns and social movements.},

abstract = {In this article, I investigate the construction of gender roles in Brazilian conservative discourse on social media on the internet. I analyze more than one hundred thousand comments made to the Facebook page of the right-wing activist Olavo de Carvalho between 2014 and 2018. Using computational linguistics methods, I create a network of words that reveals the main contexts present in collective discourse. I seek to understand the uses of the terms woman and man. First, I map the discourse topics and locate the context in which the terms woman and man occur. Then, I deepen the analysis going back to the original utterance. The detailed reading revealed the persistence of ideas of universality and centrality of man in the conservative discourse. As Simone de Beauvoir pointed out in 1949, man represents both the positive and the neutral; an absolute human type. Woman, in turn, is constructed in the discourse as the other, the different. The negative feeling that often accompanies the term woman reveals the aversion to the different and the misogyny underlying the conservative mentality.},

abstract = {Is the analytical framework used by ethologists sucient to study the mental states of non-human animals (NHAs) at the appropriate level of complexity? To address this question our strategy was to i) reveal the experimental and analytic habits of scientists of different disciplines in the literature, and ii) use "intention" as a vector in an interdisciplinary prospect of the study of NHAs mental states. Our own intention was to outline the specic orientations and possible impasses of the ethological analytical framework which limits the consideration of NHAs intentions. We conducted a bibliometric analysis of the scientic literature published between 2016 and 2020 in two steps: 1. through a rst corpus, we identied the terms used in studies of NHAs intentions and 2. on this basis, 111 articles related to intentions in NHAs were selected. By analysing them using a co-occurrences network of the authors’ keywords, ten scientic approaches to intention in NHAs were identied. Our main ndings are that i) the term « intention » is very seldom used in studies of NHAs; ii) approaches developed in humans are rarely transposed in these studies; and iii) in such few studies, it is not the NHAs intentions which are under question, but the link between NHAs and human intentions. This study highlights the limitations of the current theoretical framework used to study non-human animals’ cognition, which does not allow for the full spectrum of non-human cognitive specicities.},

abstract = {Se is one of the essential nutrients for human health and animal growth; it participates in various physiological functions, such as antioxidant and immune response and metabolism. Se deficiency is related in the animal industry to poor production performance and the appearance of health problems in humans. Therefore, interest has arisen in producing fortified foods, nutritional supplements, and animal feed products enriched with Se. A sustainable strategy for bio-based products enriched with Se is microalgae. These are characterized by the ability to bioaccumulate inorganic Se and metabolize it into organic Se for product formulations of industrial interest. Although there are some reports on Se bioaccumulation, further exploration is needed to understand the effects of Se bioaccumulation in microalgae. Therefore, this article presents a systematic review of the genes or groups of genes that trigger biological responses associated with the metabolization of Se in microalgae. A total of 54,541 genes related to Se metabolization distributed in 160 different classes were found. Similarly, trends were identified through bibliometric networks on strains of greatest interest, bioproducts, and scientific production.},

abstract = {Big data technology has been widely used in entrepreneurial research in recent years. To explore the development trend and fundamental characteristics of big data in entrepreneurship (BDIE) research, we conduct a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of BDIE based on 541 publications between 1993 and 2020 from Web of Science. On the one hand, this paper focuses on some essential characteristics of the BDIE publications, such as categories, citation, H-index, and the most cited publications. On the other hand, visual scientific maps are presented by bibliometric tools, i.e., Bibliometrix, VOS viewer, and CorTexT Manager, showing relationships between publications and knowledge structure in BDIE research. Finally, hot topics in current studies, knowledge, and limitations are discussed, guiding scholars to explore new research directions. This paper provides a relatively broad perspective for applying BDIE research, which contributes to understanding the evolution of BDIE research and inspires scholars in related fields.},

abstract = {Previous studies on the sharing economy have not utilized bibliometrics to classify the main stakeholders from the perspective of operations research (OR). In this study, we utilize the bibliometric method to review the supply side, demand side, the platform, and their optimization models. Based on the bibliometric network, we propose a complete multi-level framework to study the optimization decisions of stakeholders and the key factors that may influence optimal decisions in the sharing economy. The pricing, behavioral characteristics, operating strategies, and incentive methods of the three stakeholders will affect the optimal decisions and models. Multi-party interaction significantly affects the decision-making behavior of stakeholders. The sharing economy introduces a new business model to traditional industrial applications, such as transportation and trade, and has both positive and negative effects on the economy, environment, and society. We identify future research in the ecosystem of the sharing economy, hybrid methods, and breakthrough technologies, such as blockchain, AI, and data-driven optimization.},

abstract = {The rapidly growing research landscape in finance, encompassing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) topics and associated Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications, presents challenges for both new researchers and seasoned practitioners. This study aims to systematically map the research area, identify knowledge gaps, and examine potential research areas for researchers and practitioners. The investigation centers around three research questions: key research themes for ESG and AI in finance, research intensity and interest evolution, and the use and progression of AI techniques within these themes. Eight archetypical research domains were identified: (i) Trading and Investment, (ii) ESG Disclosure, Measurement and Governance, (iii) Firm Governance, (iv) Financial Markets and Instruments, (v) Risk Management, (vi) Forecasting and Valuation, (vii) Data, and (viii) Responsible Use of AI. Distinctive AI techniques were found to be employed across these archetypes. The study contributes to consolidating knowledge on the intersection of ESG, AI, and finance, offering an ontological inquiry and key takeaways for practitioners and researchers. Important insights include the popularity and crowding of the Trading and Investment domain, the growth potential of the Data archetype, and the high potential of Responsible Use of AI, despite its low publication count. By understanding the nuances of different research archetypes, researchers and practitioners can better navigate this complex landscape and contribute to a more sustainable and responsible financial sector.},

abstract = {Digital health data are seen as valuable resources for the development of better and more efficient treatments, for instance through personalised medicine. However, health data are information about individuals who hold opinions and can challenge how data about them are used. Therefore it is important to understand public discussions around reuse of digital health data. Social media have been heralded as enabling new forms of public engagement and as a place to study social issues. In this paper, we study a public debate on Twitter about personalised medicine. We explore who participates in discussions about personalised medicine on Twitter and what they tweet about. Based on user-generated biographies we categorise users as having a ‘Professional interest in personalised medicine’ or as ‘Private’ users. We describe how users within the field tweet about the promises of personalised medicine, while users unaffiliated with the field tweet about the concrete realisation of these ambitions in the form of a new infrastructure and express concerns about the conditions for the implementation. Our study serves to remind people interested in public opinion that Twitter is a platform used for multiple purposes by different actors and not simply a bottom-up democratic forum. This study contributes with insights relevant to policymakers wishing to expand infrastructures for reuse of health data. First, by providing insights into what is discussed about health data reuse. Second, by exploring how Twitter can be used as a platform to study public discussions about reuse

abstract = {This study aims to provide practical insights on the research areas and prediction trends of learning technologies that support authentic assessment practices in the digital education setting. Technology-enabled learning can be utilized to enhance assessment design in meaningful ways that resembles the professional work environment. Innovative technology-enabled assessment practices necessitate an understanding of the technologies at-hand, hence a disciplined inquiry is called upon into the multitude of technologies that define the landscape.
The study looked to investigate the technology groups and research efforts within the field of learning technologies that were shaping digitally mediated authentic assessment practices.
Using Horizon Report (HR), an annual education-based technology forecasting publication, as a reference, the study looked to evaluate if HR is a good proxy to predict the evolution of learning technologies in the said scape. Research distinguished four key learning technology groups, namely ubiquitous learning technology, adaptive learning technology, immersive learning technology, and learning object. Network analyses performed on the four technology groups identified key generalizable research themes that can be utilized for research focus. The study also found that HR is a useful tool to predict technology trends, as corroborated from bibliometric analyses, and detailed the composition and evolution of these trends. This study can help educators and researchers identify and decide promising potential areas for future research and/or investment focus.},

abstract = {Nepheloid layers are widely distributed in the marine environment, and their formation and evolution pose many challenges to the current understanding of ocean dynamics and marine sedimentology. In sediment transport processes, nepheloid layers significantly contribute to the exchange of sediment between the continental shelf and the slope. In this paper, we summarize the global research trends on nepheloid layers. In total, 689 publications from 1990 to 2022 were collected from the Web of Science and analyzed using bibliographic software, including Bibliometrix, VOSviewer, CiteSpace, and CorText. Based on these publications, past and present popular research on nepheloid layers is examined and evaluated. The trends in nepheloid layer research are summarized by analyzing keywords, article references, countries, institutions, and authors. Finally, prospects and several key questions related to nepheloid layers are concluded, which can potentially guide future studies. The bibliographic analysis can provide new insights into the history of nepheloid layers. The results also provide valuable information for other researchers and programs investigating geological, geophysical, and biogeochemical processes.},

In an effort to bridge this gap, this study assessed the position of the NBaS notion in French Master's programs. Based on a survey questionnaire, several interviews and a text mining analysis of the Master's contents, this paper identified, localised and analysed the French Masters that presented links with NBaS related concepts. This analysis revealed that the notion of NBaS is far from being mastered. This might be caused by a conceptual misunderstanding of definitions. While text mining revealed that the building blocks of the NBaS framework are present, much still needs to be done for connecting them together. A combined analysis of the findings derived from this study led to recommendations to better introduce NBaS in Masters programs in the future.},

abstract = {Volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions have attracted wide attention due to their impacts on atmospheric quality and public health. However, most studies reviewed certain aspects of natural VOCs (NVOCs) or anthropogenic VOCs (AVOCs) rather than comprehensively quantifying the hotspots and evolution trends of AVOCs and NVOCs. We combined the bibliometric method with the evolution tree and Markov chain to identify research focus and uncover the trends in VOC emission sources. This study found that research mainly focused on VOC emission characteristics, effects on air quality and health, and VOC emissions under climate change. More studies concerned on AVOCs than on NVOCs, and AVOC emissions have shifted with a decreasing proportion of transport emissions and an increasing share of solvent utilization in countries with high emissions and publications (China and the USA). Research on AVOCs is imperative to develop efficient and economical abatement techniques specific to solvent sources or BTEX species to mitigate the detrimental effects. Research on NVOCs originating from human sources risen due to their application in medicine, while studies on sources sensitive to climate change grew slowly, including plants, biomass burning, microbes, soil and oceans. Research on the long-term responses of NVOCs derived from various sources to climate warming is warranted to explore the evolution of emissions and the feedback on global climate. It is worthwhile to establish an emission inventory with all kinds of sources, accurate estimation, high spatial and temporal resolution to capture the emission trends in the synergy of industrialization and climate change as well as to simulate the effects on air quality. We review VOC emissions from both anthropogenic and natural sources under climate change and their effects on atmospheric quality and health to point out the research directions for the comprehensive control of global VOCs and mitigation of O3 pollution.},

abstract = {Global research on medical and health-related issues experienced a profound reconfiguration over the last thirty years. The rise of new areas of inquiry has transformed the medical research landscape as staff with medical training gradually relinquished their prominence, and specialists from other disciplines raised their profile within research teams. Given this, research priorities seem to be shifting increasingly towards laboratory-based and innovation-oriented research lines. The unfolding of these shifts in non-hegemonic countries as Mexico is still to be understood. This paper surveys structural changes in Mexican medical research from 1993 to 2021 by observing temporal aggregation of authorships, emerging thematical features, and institutional affiliations patterns. It also explores correlations between these findings and their possible explanations. Results allow us to empirically describe significant changes in medical research done in Mexico. We detected periods of stability in authorships allowing us to describe stages in the accumulation of research and development (R&D) capabilities. The identified semantic patterns allowed us to characterize this transformation, observing subsequent stages of an accumulation and specialization process that began in the mid-1990s. Moreover, we found divergent thematical and institutional patterns that point towards a growing gap between research conducted in health institutions and scientific ones.},

abstract = {Introduction: Detecting radical innovations in the solar energy domain could offer innovation references and support the promotion of solar energy. However, relevant studies in the solar energy domain are lacking, and the related methods need to be improved.
Methods: In this paper, a new framework to identify radical innovations in the solar energy domain is proposed by combining a technological convergence study and scientific relation analysis, and the link prediction method is utilized to detect potential radical innovations in this domain.
Results: 1) The distributions of both the technological classes and scientific categories are uneven in the solar energy domain. The top 15 technological classes account for nearly 75.46% of all classifications. Fifteen scientific categories are cited by all the patents, and applied physics, multidisciplinary material science, energy and fuels play important roles in this domain. 2) The relationships among technological classes have evolved over time and have mainly focused on neighbouring disciplines. 3) A total of 130 patents containing new convergence relationships and/or closely related to science are identified as radical innovations. Radical innovative topics are related to the subdomains of solar photovoltaic (solar PV), heat storage, heat exchangers, and solar collectors. 4) Five potential radical innovative topics are identified. Automatic plants for producing electric energy, solar energy ecology houses, and so on are considered to have great potential in the future.
Discussion: The results are consistent with the authoritative report and previous studies, which verify the viability of our methods. And the findings have important implications for scientists, policy-makers, and investors in this domain.},

abstract = {The global accumulation of waste polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and its resistance to natural degradation gives rise to environmental and health concerns. Synthetic biology offers the potential to further develop microorganisms to achieve this; thus, biodegradation is seen as an ecologically feasible alternative. Hence, there is a need to examine the current progress of this field and how it relates to PET biodegradation along with trends that future research may lean into. We conducted a systematic literature review via Scopus WebSearch, ResearchGate, and Google Scholar, indicating that research on synthetic biology relating to PET biodegradation took off in 2008. A bibliometric analysis was utilized to supplement the study using the Scopus database with a predetermined criteria and journal articles dated January 2008 to November 2023, yielding 429 journal articles, converted into RIS format then processed in Cortext Manager. We found major interest leaned into four clusters: E. coli, microbial consortia, synthetic biology, and P. putida. Current literature emphasizes the metabolic engineering of hydrolase enzymes, like bis-(2-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate (BHET) mono-(2-hydroxyethyl) terephthalate (MHET), that breakdown PET polymers into ethylene glycol (EG) & terephthalic acid (TPA) monomers, with E. coli and P. putida able to further metabolize these derivatives into polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs). The data linkages showed that studies trended towards collecting these microorganisms into artificial microbial consortia to increase degradation output. We realized the potential to upcycle PET waste by utilizing these enzymes and microbial consortia to process PET into PHA, a material utilized in pharmaceutics and the emerging tissue engineering field.},
