abstract = {Much debate has been around the misapplication of metrics in research assessment. As a result of this concern, the Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA) was launched, an initiative that caused opposing viewpoints. However, the discussion topics about DORA have not been formally identified, especially in participatory environments outside the scholarly communication process, such as social networks. This paper contributes to that end by analyzing 20,717 DORA-related tweets published from 2015 to 2022. The results show an increasing volume of tweets, mainly promotional and informative, but with limited participation of users, either commenting or engaging with the tweets, generating a scarcely polarized conversation driven primarily by a few DORA promoters. While a varied list of discussion topics is found (especially "Open science and research assessment," "Academics career assessment & innovation," and "Journal Impact Factor"), the DORA debate appears as part of broader conversations (research evaluation, open science). Further studies are needed to check whether these results are restricted to Twitter or reveal more general patterns. The findings might interest the different evaluators and evaluated agents regarding their interests and concerns around the reforms in the research evaluation.},

abstract = {Biopesticides are pest and pathogen management agents based on living microorganisms or natural products (botanical origin). Due to their natural origins, they stand out as an environmentally friendly tool, since they quickly decompose and minimize pollution problems produced by synthetic pesticides. However, these products present significant challenges that affect the bioactivities of the active components, due to the degradation of the biomass or bioactive metabolite by factors such as air, light, and temperature. Therefore, in this study, a systematic search of the Scopus database was conducted and scientometric tools were used to evaluate formulation techniques and approaches that seek to improve the bioactivities of natural preparations. The results showed that published research on biopesticides has significantly increased by 71.24% in the last decade (2011–2021). Likewise, the bibliometrics showed, through temporal flow analysis, and in the period from 2010 to 2021, investigations evolved have toward the use of nanotechnology, with the purpose of improving and potentiating the formulations of biopesticides. Consequently, nanotechnology tools can be classified as current strategies of interest that allow the increase and protection of bioefficacy to a greater extent than traditional biopesticide preparations. This review constitutes an important contribution to future research and expands the panorama in relation to biopesticide formulations for the control of agricultural pests.},

abstract = {Value chains are an important driver for the current labor dynamics in the agri-food sector, and agri-food value chain sustainability strongly depends on decent work conditions. An increasing literature body have been investigated the interactions between chain agents and how it impacted labor issues. Our aim was to map the scientific landscape of the scientific knowledge on labor in agri-food value chains. We performed a bibliometric review of 343 articles indexed in the Web of Science based on descriptive and network analysis of articles metadata, which covered authors, journals, citation times, keywords and countries. We showed that labor in agri-food value chains has an international audience, despite that knowledge production was largely built by a restraint leading scientific network. Overall, the scientific knowledge is organized into four main research domains on labor in agri-food value chains: (1) labor governance in global value chains through standards, (2) employment in value chains and impacts on socioeconomic conditions of rural areas, (3) gender issues and value chains, (4) labor and upgrading in global value chains. The controversies in the international literature regarding labor issues in the agri-food value chains, and blind spots of current research are discussed.},

abstract = {Signée par Elon Musk, Stephen Hawking, Steve Wozniak et Noam Chomsky, une lettre ouverte publiée en 2015 alerte sur les risques existentiels auxquels l’humanité doit faire face en raison des nouveaux développements de l’IA. Elle constitue un moment clé de la réactivation d’un ensemble de ressources narratives et normatives visant à porter sur la place publique un débat critique relatif aux progrès de l’IA. Par vagues successives, les promesses et les risques de l’intelligence artificielle sont venus occuper de façon spectaculaire la discussion publique. À partir de méthode de TAL appliquée à un large corpus de la presse anglo-saxonne, cet article montre que le thème des algorithmes et de l’IA occupe un espace croissant dans la sphère médiatique depuis 5 ans. Le corpus se structure autour de deux espaces sémantiques qui constituent deux régimes dominants de critique, l’un fondé sur les injustices produites par les algorithmes et l’autre sur les peurs de l’autonomie de l’IA et des robots. L’analyse comparée de ces espaces montre qu’ils mobilisent des agents technologiques et humains, des troubles et une temporalité distincts. En développant un discours critique sur les méfaits de ces technologies, la sphère médiatique contribue à forger l’opinion publique mais aussi à définir les formes d’acceptabilité de ces agents calculateurs.},

abstract = {Using a variety of NLP methods on a corpus of press articles, we show that there are two dominant regimes of criticism of artificial intelligence that coexist within the media sphere. Combining text classification algorithms to detect critical articles and a topological analysis of the terms extracted from the corpus, we reveal two semantic spaces, involving different technological and human entities, but also distinct temporality and issues. On the one hand, the algorithms that shape our daily computing environments are associated with a critical discourse on bias, discrimination, surveillance, censorship and amplification phenomena in the spread of inappropriate content. On the other hand, robots and AI, which refer to autonomous and embodied technical entities, are associated with a prophetic discourse alerting us to our ability to control these agents that simulate or exceed our physical and cognitive capacities and threaten our physical security or our economic mode.},

abstract = {Depuis le début des années 2000, l’Inra, devenu INRAE le 1er janvier 2020, a conduit 44 opérations d’expertise scientifique collective, d’étude et de prospective sur des thématiques relevant de l’agriculture, de l’alimentation et de l’environnement. C’est une activité très importante pour l’institut, inscrite dans les missions d’un Établissement Public à caractère Scientifique et Technique (EPST), à une période où l’expertise scientifique est à la fois fortement sollicitée et controversée au sein de la société. En revenant sur les productions issues de cette activité d’expertise au sens large, il est possible d’analyser les contenus thématiques déployés sur une vingtaine d’années pour caractériser et s’interroger sur la nature des questions et des sujets confiés à l’Inra en vue d’éclairer la décision publique et les débats publics dans leur ensemble. Pour conduire une telle analyse réflexive, nous avons mobilisé des outils et des compétences venant des « data sciences », plus particulièrement le logiciel d’analyse textuelle Iramuteq1 et les outils en ligne de la plateforme CorTexT2. La mise en œuvre de ces instruments a été accompagnée par une Master Class à destination des agents de la Direction de l’Expertise scientifique collective, de la prospective et des études (DEPE) d’INRAE de façon à développer les compétences individuelles et collectives en analyse textuelle et à mobiliser les savoir-faire dans la constitution des corpus analysés. La synthèse ci-après présente les résultats d’une partie des analyses réalisées sur le corpus constitué des résumés (d’une dizaine de pages) des trois types d’opérations conduites depuis 2000 : 17 expertises scientifiques collectives, 11 études et 16 prospectives. },

Our scientometric review provides an overview about the main characteristics of a new rising scientific community focused in labor in agricultural value chain, as well as a synthesis of knowledge produced to support scientific innovation in this field. Regarding agriculture value chains agents, our results advance the importance of governance to improve employment relations and working conditions in farms in order to promote chain sustainability.},

abstract = {The thesis aims to study both theoretically and empirically the management of ecosystem services by the farmers from the perspective of the economic theory. The concept of ecosystem services is an interdisciplinary concept that refers to "the services that nature offers to human for free". The economic literature has mainly investigated this concept in measuring the value of these services, with few attention to the behavior of agents modifying these services. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the first part, I study both the supply and the demand for the productive ecosystem services (for example, pollination or biological control) by analyzing the behavior of farmers, considered as potential agroecosystem managers. Inspired by the literature on landscape ecology, I introduce biodiversity indicators that are function of land-use into existing models from agricultural production economics literature. This reunion provides a unified theoretical model for analyzing farmers' choices regarding the management of productive ecosystem services. The empirical works consists in estimating all or parts of this theoretical model. My main contribution to the literature is to prove, based on the farmers' observed behavior, that farmers do manage productive ecosystem services. I bring other elements to the literature, notably by providing new insights on the agricultural technology when productive ecosystem services are considered, or by showing that collective management of productive ecosystem services can only rarely arise spontaneously in real landscapes where farmers are heterogeneous. In the second part, I study the demand for the jointly provided public goods by the farmers’ modification of ecosystem service flows, i.e. I study the specificities of the demand for environmental services provided by farmers (in the sense of Engel et al., 2008). In particular, I study the role of the geographic scale of the demand for the design of agri-environmental policy. Indeed, if local public goods influence the welfare of the agents within a defined geographical area (e.g., the improvement of water quality by maintaining a wetland upstream of a treatment plant), global public goods can influence the welfare of all agents (e.g., the carbon sequestration into the soil of a wetland). In this part, I apply the framework of several literatures developed in environmental economics (for example, the literature on environmental federalism or on the "distance-decay") to the specificities of the environmental services provided by farmers; in particular, I integrate that the environmental service provided by a farmer affects the supply of multiple public goods in most cases, the demand for these public goods arising at different geographical scales. I contribute to the literature by showing that, although most of the demand for environmental services provided by farmers is captured locally (at the municipal level), some of the demand is captured by larger and farer areas. This has implications for the governance and the design of agri-environmental policies, which I explore through two examples: the reduction of pesticide application and the maintenance of agricultural wetlands.},

abstract = {This article traces the history of research on resistance to drug therapy in oncology using scientometric techniques and qualitative analysis. Using co-citation analysis, we generate maps to visualize subdomains in resistance research in two time periods, 1975–1990 and 1995–2010. These maps reveal two historical trends in resistance research: first, a shift in focus from generic mechanisms of resistance to chemotherapy to a focus on resistance to targeted therapies and molecular mechanisms of oncogenesis; and second, a movement away from an almost exclusive reliance on animal and cell models and toward the generation of knowledge about resistance through clinical trial work. A close reading of highly cited articles within each subdomain cluster reveals specific points of transition from one regime to the other, in particular the failure of several promising theories of resistance to be translated into clinical insights and the emergence of interest in resistance to a new generation of targeted agents such as imatinib and trastuzumab. We argue that the study of resistance in the oncology field has thus become more integrated with research into cancer therapy – rather than constituting it as a separate domain of study, as it has done in the past, contemporary research treats resistance as the flip side to treatment, as therapy’s shadow.},
